Calorie Shifting Menus
Calorie shifting menus base themselves on the rotation of the foods that you eat every day so that your body never becomes accustomed to the same foods. This helps boost your metabolism which is in charge of burning fat. Calorie shifting menus are much more effective then traditional diet menus which base themselves on the reduction of the number of calories you consume in a day. When you drastically reduce your daily calorie intake you slow down the metabolism which means that your body will start burning at a much slower rate than usual.
A typical example of a calorie shifting menu is the one below:
First Day:
First meal: Sandwich
Second meal: Tuna Salad
Third meal: Oatmeal
Fourth meal: Eggs
Second Day:
First meal: Milk Shake
Second meal: Cottage Cheese
Third meal: Scrambled Eggs with Mixed Vegetables
Fourth meal: Chicken
Third Day:
First meal: Cottage Cheese
Second meal: Chicken
Third meal: Fruit
Fourth meal: Fish
The above meals should be eaten three to four hours apart and they can usually be eaten in any order one likes i.e. the fourth meal can be eaten first followed by the first meal followed by the third meal followed by the second meal. The important thing is that you stop just before becoming full.
The whole menu is 11 days long after which you are allowed 3 days off where you are free to eat whatever you like. Then you repeat the same process (11 days following calorie shifting menu and 3 days off) and repeat it again until satisfied woth your weight loss.
Calorie shifting menus are usually personalized with the help of a calorie shifting meal planner. This meal planner lets you create your own customized menu that you will be expected to follow. The best thing about calorie shifting is that it truly works and the majority of those that followed this diet say so. When you follow this diet you will be eating foods from all five major food groups namely:
- fat (especially the healthy unsaturated fats like olive oil, avocados, nuts and oily fish)
- starch (for example wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta, potatoes and rics)
- fruit and vegetables (too many to mention here)
- proteins (which include meat, fish, eggs, beans and nuts)
- dairy products (which include amongst others milk, yoghurt and cheese)
Drinking about 8 glasses a day is very important for optimum weight loss to occur. Water keeps your metabolism hydrated and flushes excess toxins from your body.
