Juicing Diet – A Nourishing Drink For the Inexperienced Juicer

by Guest User on September 12, 2011

When I brought my great new juicer home from the retailer, I unpacked, set it up and carefully washed it. Then a terrible thought entered my head.  What now?  In the process of getting my Breville BJE200XL, getting it home and set up I had not given a single thought to just what exactly I might be juicing for my new juicing diet, let alone exactly how to achieve it!

I made a fast visit to a neighborhood book dealer and bought a manual relating to juicing for health.  I didn’t think that there were so many completely different combinations of fruits and vegetables that can be juiced together to enhance our day to day health and wellbeing.  The wonderful point about juicing to me is the simplicity of it.  I began with three of  the most commonly encountered fruits and veggies you can imagine and designed a concoction that changed my entire existence.

I set out for the grocery store in search of something to juice.  The one thing I observed about the produce section was the fragrance of fresh fruits and vegetables.  If nutrition has a fragrance, that would be it!

A Wonderful Starter’s Recipe

A great place to start  off for a new juicing diet is to juice three or four carrots combined with one good sized apple and possibly a modest selection of high quality spinach or parsley.  I sliced the top off the carrots and snipped the smaller tip off the other end.  I cored a large apple and trimmed it into four even pieces and located all the items into a medium sized container.  I was mindful to leave the skin on the carrots and apples both, as over 95 percent of the nutrition is in the skin.

I carefully washed the carrots, apple and picked out a handful of high quality spinach, washed it and carefully placed it into the bowl along with the carrots and apple.  I punched the switch on the juicer and dropped a couple of apple pieces down the feed tube and pushed it down with the plastic plunger.  I was impressed at the quantity of fresh apple juice that spurted out into the container!  I grabbed a carrot this time.  Same thing.  I wadded up the spinach into a ball and used a large carrot to drive it through the juicer.  I kept on going until everything had been juiced.

I poured the juice into a mug, stirred it and then took a sip.  It was surprisingly delicious!  I found that within a couple of hours, I began to feel a lot more laid back and I had quite a bit more energy.  This came about several years ago and I knew that I would forever continue to experience the many benefits of juicing.
