You’re probably bored with your home cooking, and would love to visit a restaurant for a change.
On the other hand, your doctor has advised you not to eat restaurant foods as it can result in weight gain. It can be a bit confusing.
Don’t worry about it, I am going to give you a few tips in this article that will help you make the right choices, keeping on track with your weight loss goals, so no more gaining weight eating at restaurants.
Four Small Things To Keep Your Weight Loss Goals
1. Go To A Vegetarian Restaurant:
In order to be on the safe side, visit restaurants which only offer veggie meals. I am not telling you that non vegetarian meals are bad.
The thing about non vegetarian restaurants is that it’s so easy to make the wrong choices and choose foods that will cause you to gain weight when your goal has been weight loss.
Think about this example, ordinary chicken meat which is served in most restaurants is usually laden with huge amounts of fat for richer flavour of course this won’t help your weight loss efforts! On the other side of things it’s the lean chicken that’s better for you but you’ll find most places don’t think that way. With vegetarian restaurants, you will be more often than not on the safe side!
2. Skip Using The Salad Dressing:
I’m sure you have heard salads are good for weight loss and it’s true. It’s a no brainer as salads are just chopped, raw vegetables
Raw vegetables, as you might be aware, help you burn fat by boosting your metabolic rate. However, the salad dressing that is provided in most restaurants is rich in calorie. So whenever you ask for salads, make sure to instruct them to remove the salad dressing from the top!
3. Stay Away From Buffets:
A lot of the foods you see at buffets are rich in calorie content, run away from them and you will thank me. These calorie laden foods are created in large quanities with lots of oil, thereby them unsuitable for those who are looking forward to shedding some pounds.
But, you can still eat from the buffet, just keep away from the foods that cause you to gain weight, that takes will power and is why I avoid them. Make the healthy alternative and choose the salad bar instead.
4. No Need To Eat It All:
If you find your portion is larger than you should be eating just ask for another plate and move some of your food to that plate. You can ask for it a doggy bag to take home so you can eat it the next day.
It works for me and I get an extra meal for the same price.
Use a little thought and willpower and you will find eating at restaurants is still a great experience and you can stay in line with your weight loss goals.
