For a lot of years the battle seems to carry on between the FDA, FTC and small sections of the weight loss sector. It all depends on where you look, but it is not hard to find ads that promise to eliminate fat from the system in record time. As an example, there are pills and patches allegedly designed to burn and get rid of fat almost instantaneously, relatively speaking. One significant item worthy of note is many substances and products haven’t been given any type of stamp of approval for use. Also, the FTC has their hands full with their goal to stop many kinds of false and misleading claims made by some of these companies. If you do enough of your own research, you will see that a lof so called herbal ingredients have not been studied or recognized for specific uses as promoted.
It is easy to understand that a person who is overweight is frustrated and almost too prepared to try something that may not be very healthy to consume. It isn’t out of the question for people to feel something is proven to be safe just because it is on the shelf. It is true that a product can be unveiled using components with no history of human testing to confirm they are safe for usage. Just a little research can readily confirm the presence of herbal products that are obtainable yet they could pose dreadful consequences for certain people. Just one well known example is ephedra, and that chemical was finally banned in the United States. But that is just one, and there are others that are of a similar potential risk.
Also look at something like Phenylpropanolamine Hydro Choride which is a serious danger to some people, and yet you can Google it and find an ad to buy it. This used to be a very widespread ingredient in slimming capsules and cold medicines about ten years ago. One of the complications with this ingredient is it was sold under various names and all were linked to weight loss. Phenylpropanolamine was found to perhaps cause a whole host of very severe medical problems as well as sudden death. What we find remarkable is that if you research on it in Google, you will see promotions for it – still! So just think about the danger that is posed to people who have no concept about potential hazards with using it.
It is simply impossible, we think, for any agency to be completely aware of everything that happens, and we must watch out for ourselves in the end. So we think it is an interesting situation when some things are still readily available even a lot of years after they are recognized to be unsafe. There just are no cutting corners with fat loss, and people need to realize that sometimes you just are not able to have a fast and easy course to success. There is nothing simple about losing a great deal of weight, and that would seem to be the unfortunate bottom line. There is no secret about losing weight and keeping it off, yet there would seem to be no end to the new products that always seem to be emerging.
