Why You Need To Give Up Dieting

Diets really don’t work for most people because no matter what results you achieve, they never really last for very long. It doesn’t matter whether or not you manage to keep those extra pounds off for a few months because before long the weight will be back again. This often ends up with the person getting into a cycle of yo-yo dieting where they keep losing weight and then putting it back on again; this is bad for health as well as being very frustrating. What you want is to lose the weight and keep it off permanently. The only way you will keep that weight off is to start making changes to your lifestyle instead of dieting.

 

Dieting is far less effective than making changes to your lifestyle. When you go on a diet it is just a temporary change but a life change is something that you do more permanently. A diet is about denying yourself while a life change is about doing things differently. When you consider these facts it is little wonder why making a life change is so much more effective than dieting. Changes that you can do which you probably won’t even notice include eating your food more slowly or making sure that you drink more water each day. It is not necessary for you to make lots of changes all at the same time; you can do it gradually. Losing weight in this way is easier to do and much easier to maintain according to most of the people who have adopted this approach.

 

As you can see I’m no fan of diets, but luckily there are more people coming around to my point of view. The diet industry is continuing to grow all the time because there are so many people who are desperate to try any diet; the sad thing is that most of them end up feeling very disappointed. I really think that it is time for the diet industry to implode because diets really don’t work.
